Texture Mapping

Texture Mapped vs. Flat Shaded

This picture illustrates the difference between flat shaded and texture mapped photos. Here are two different shades displayed as 1 and 2. The outline of picture 1 is not as clear and straight forward as picture 2 which means it is texture mapped.

Roll Call 1, Class #4

Cloud Party Avatar

Cloud Party Exploration

Midterm #3

This picture was saved in a .gif file. I have been using the .jpg files to convert pictures from GIMP to my blog. I am most familiar with this style of picture.

This picture is saved in the .jpg format. I definitely see a difference in picture compared to the .gif and .png formats. The picture seems to be the clearest.

Lastly, the picture is saved in a .png format. This format is set to a 7 compression level. Picking a 7 out of 9 compression level still zoomed in the picture more than the others. This picture is not as clear as the other two. This is my midterm #3. It is a midterm exercise from the Immersive Education course that I am taking at Boston College. The course is called Discovering Computer Graphics. For details, visit the immersive BC portal at http://ImmersiveEducation.org/@/bc

Class 3: Entering Meshmoon Virtual Worlds

I decided to check out three different worlds to get a feel of how Meshmoon works. The first world I checked out was called Haukipudas Cloud Party. It was a church that reminded me a lot of the smaller churches I saw when I was over in Europe. The detail was amazing when I walked through the church.

The second world I explored was called Stinkfists DevScene. It was a cluster of random objects that you could walk across to have the feeling of floating over a bed of water. I took the picture towards the end of the world to snap a good picture of the majority of the world.

The last world I explored was called German Fire Fighting Museum. They had four different automobiles they used over the years. They dated them back all the way to horse and carriage. Along the wall was a timeline of different events dealing with these German Firefighting automobiles.

Midterm #2

This is my original picture with just my name on it.

I used the text box tool and the Text tool to write both my name and "Samus is a double maker". I chose to write in blue because Blue is my favorite color. Just by the look of Samus he does look like he is up to no good. This is my midterm #2. It is a midterm exercise from the Immersive Education course that I am taking at Boston College. The course is called Discovering Computer Graphics. For details, visit the immersive BC portal at http://ImmersiveEducation.org/@/bc

Midterm #1

Here is my midterm #1. This is the original picture with just my name information.

I then used the eyedropper tool and the paintbrush tol to take the red out of the babies eyes. I used a basic color in the picture using the eyedropper and then used the paintbrush to use that color to fill in the eyes carefully. This is my midterm #1. It is a midterm exercise from the Immersive Education course that I am taking at Boston College. The course is called Discovering Computer Graphics. For details, visit the immersive BC portal at http://ImmersiveEducation.org/@/bc
